Alison writes :
"Ever since hitting my first shot with my father at the age of eleven, I was hooked!
I went on to represent England at the age of fourteen in the under 18s girls team, I was the youngest player at the time. I represented England in the junior, schools and ladies team and also represented Great Britain & Ireland. At the age of fourteen I played off of a scratch and by sixteen +2 handicap.
Turning Pro
In 1991, I turned professional and played on the Ladies European Tour. I remember playing in my 1st tournament the Italian Open in Rome, feeling rather nervous! However I was over the moon to have made the cut and earned my 1st pay cheque. I played on tour full time for two years, which was a great experience. I then decided to do my PGA Training, in 1996 I qualified as a PGA Professional.
Since 2007 I’ve been a PGA teaching professional at Woodhall Spa The National Golf Centre.
World Transplant Games
In December 2008 I became very ill where an unknown virus was attacking my liver in January 2009 I was given 5 days left to live with out a liver transplant and on my final day luckily for me I had my life saving liver transplant. I am forever great full to my donor and family.
I have been fortunate enough to have been selected to represent Team GB in the world transplant games which is played every two years. I have played in the last three world games – 2015 Argentina / 2017 Malaga / 2019 Newcastle.
I have won the gold medal in the last 3 world games for my age category, I’m currently world champion. So a new challenge for my own golf game!

Enjoy the newly refurbished Doubletree by Hilton Islantilla Beach Golf Resort which was scheduled to re-open on the 21st March 2020 after undergoing extensive work from 1st November 2019. Unfortunately with the covid epidemic it took a little longer to re-open after the refurbishment and for you to be able to enjoy the experience of the redecoration.
Islantilla Golf Resort features excellent facilities including outdoor and indoor pools, spa, gymnasium, sauna and wonderful accommodation. The public rooms are large and well decorated and the spacious bedrooms are tastefully appointed. The surrounding gardens and pool area are beautifully laid out. There are 204 spacious and colourfully decorated rooms located over 4 floors.

Each room has a balcony, air-conditioning/heating, satellite TV, mini bar, safe & fridge. The 12 duplex garden bungalows can accommodate up to 4 persons sharing with a central lounge facility. There is a Buffet Restaurant, a la carte restaurant, English pub, large outdoor swimming pool in a magnificent terrace with bar and grill. A short walk will take you to a small local supermarket and there is a small shopping centre on the beach with restaurants, clothes stores and a larger supermarket.

Return airport transfers from Faro are INCLUDED for all guests arriving and departing at the same time. Individuual transfers will incur and extra charge.
