Denise has worked with Tarleton over the last 12 years and now manages around 12 coaching weeks each season with us. Her enthusiasm, experience and entertaining personality make her an ideal host for any tuition week and the experience she has gained from playing the European Tour for ten years is invaluable in her approach.
A founder member of the Women’s PGA in 1978, Denise’s constant commitment to updating her teaching skills and improving her knowledge has been rewarded by the PGA with her appointment as a Fellow of the PGA recognising her as one of the top coaches in the UK. In November 2007 Denise became a qualified NLP Sports Practitioner bringing another dimension to her tuition. So whether you are a novice, a good mid range golfer or a low handicap player, your tuition will be specifically directed to helping you to improve your golf and score better. "On-course" tuition is a special feature of Denise’s weeks helping you transfer those skills from the practice area to where it counts.
The tuition covers all aspects of the game of golf including woods, bunkers, irons and putting, with on-course tuition and individual video sessions using V1 state-of-the-art digital video technology.
All of Denise’s weeks are very popular and well attended so book early to avoid disappointment. Her schools are designed to cover all aspects of your game, combining expert tuition with an emphasis on enjoyment
El Rompido is a modern resort of contemporary design. The hotel nestles beside the golf courses and the rooms have views over the course or the pool area. It has many sporting facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, a football pitch and a gym. There is a spa with jacuzzi and steam room and also a range of conference facilities.
Surrounding Area
The resort is in Huelva, west of Andalucia. It blends into the natural wetlands of the river Piedras on the edge of a tidal lagoon. Sailing, go-karting and horse riding can be arranged nearby and there is also a waterpark for cooling off when you want a break from the golf course.
Closeby is the charming fishing village of Rompido with its beach area, bars and some excellent restuarants. There is a walking trail through the resort, natural area and marina which takes you to the village and the small resort shopping area.
Golf
There are two 18-hole championship courses, South & North, surrounded by olive, cork and pine trees. Both courses offer challenges to golfers of all abilities who will need to manage their way from the well positioned tees to the medium sized, fast paced greens. To help prepare you for your round there are good practice facilities with short game pitching and putting areas as well as practice bunkers and a driving range. The rolling courses provide views over the Atlantic and the marshlands.
Both the South & the North Course have similar types of hazard with water features, marshland, pine trees and fast greens. However you will find both courses are different in many ways, are always in great condition and enjoyable to play. You need to think about position to make sure that you are not blocked out or left with too many hazards between you and the green but the fairways are mostly generous and whilst the greens can be fast they are fairly large and allow you a large enough platform to attack.
